Philip Burton

CLA Neuroimaging Research Associate

After earning a PhD in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Alabama, I worked with multiple laboratories on a variety of cognitive neuroscience projects while receiving postdoctoral training at Rice University, learning to study brain function with fMRI and other neuroimaging techniques. Since 2008, I have served as Neuroimaging Research Associate for the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) at the University of Minnesota. My role is providing consultation and assistance to faculty and students with design, conduct, analysis, interpretation, and dissemination of neuroimaging research in laboratories within the College as well as to collaborators throughout the University. Throughout my time at the University of Minnesota, I have worked with Dr. Olman and other members of the OLIV Lab on multiple projects exploring visual function in the brain using high resolution MRI. Most recently, I have assisted with the analysis of DTI data examining the effects of traumatic brain injury on structural connectivity in combat veterans.
